The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved the first-ever treatment for a man who had been struggling with erectile dysfunction, a condition that has been known since the beginning of time.
Dr. Andrew Green, who has undergone surgery to remove the problem, is now one of thousands of people who have been diagnosed with the condition. He was first diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH.

"It's very important to be on the safe side," Gadsby said. "This is a very serious condition and there's no way to prevent it. It can lead to other serious health problems. So it's important to be on the safe side."
Glenmark Laboratories Ltd., an independent drug giant, sells Viagra, its generic equivalent, under the brand name Revatio.The FDA's announcement comes just three months after it approved the treatment for erectile dysfunction.
